It has been a while. After the Canada road trip I started a new job in August. I have been very, very busy. So, when Sam asked me to fly down to Honduras and help him drive his car back to the USA, I thought there was absolutely no way I could pull it off. But, thanks to an understanding boss (thanks, TF) a few days later, and just two days after moving to a new apartment, I was on a plane south. One of the fastest, literally, journeys ever. Here are the press releases (PDF) courtesy of Sam. And the pictures - the majority of which were taken from the passenger seat of a Honda Pilot (love that car), at border crossings, and gas stations. A road-trip for the ages: Honduras to Houston in a blur.

Canada is nice. Cz and I completed an epic 11-day, 3,600 mile (5,793.64 km!) road trip through New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Quebec. It was pretty tremendous, to say the very least. Many stories to tell. We saw a moose! Gallery.

Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest 2007. The IFOCE's greatest eaters battle for the world championship. Joey Chestnut set a World Record by consuming 66 HDB's in 12 minutes and defeating six-time defending champion Takeru Kobayashi. Best 4th of July ever....sort of. Gallery.

My friend BP stood in line around 5:30am to get tickets to Tuesday's White Stripes CD release show. She was tremendously generous to offer me her +1 ticket. Only 500 tickets were sold to the Fillmore/Irving Plaza show - next month they play 20,000 seat Madison Square Garden, so it was quite a privilege. It was a no photo/video show, so here is one from Dave Dominic.

Staten Island is full of interesting things, especially decaying, rotting, falling apart things. Last weekend Cz and I headed out to see some of these things. Destination one was Seaview Hospital, a campus of tens of incredibly dilapidated old buildings. Seaview was built in the early 20th century as a tuberculosis colony and in its later years is said to have been an insane asylum. Security let us drive around, but they really didn't want us to take pictures....nor even walk around. Other brave folks visited before us: great pix here and here. We then drove around the former Fresh Kills landfill and the area redevelopment. Finally, we paid a visit to one of my favorite places in NYC - Rossville and the ship graveyards. Gallery.

Marissa King is tremendously wonderful. If you happen to be a young lady, you should do your best to be as absolutely superb in all ways as Marissa King. Marissa King is truly amazing. I do not think you know enough about the extremely kind and intelligent Marissa King. You can find out more about the most fabulously beautiful Marissa King here..... (Okay Marissa King, I think this will increase your most lovely presence on the internetz)

There are certain images that are unforgettable. Not necessarily the best technical shots, or those that others find attractive, but those that capture something special for you personally. Here is one of mine. A girl traveling with her family, destination unknown, just outside Yak Kharka, a day's hike from Thorong La, a nearly 18,000 foot pass on the Annapurna Circuit, Nepal. April 1996.
